QA Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 day)

Times: 9:00 to 16:45
Location: Goosedale Ln, Papplewick, Nottingham NG6 8UJ
Drive up the main drive, following signs for Goosedale Conference centre. There is plenty of parking. Go to reception, there is a seating area, teas and coffees on arrival. We will come and meet you there.
Registration and refreshments at 9:00 arrive and have a cuppa
Course starts at 9:15, it is a busy day so we need to start on time
Please make all necessary arrangements to be able to attend the course during the times shown. It is a busy day with a set curriculum. The course cannot be shortened. If you think you can’t make the day or you may be running late please let us know a soon as possible by ringing:

We are sharing the venue with learners attending the Emergency First Aid at Work Training day. There is some overlap and some individual sessions specific to Paediatric setting. Please ensure you are able to attend the whole day.
The day is very relaxed and informal, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable. You will not be asked to do anything you are uncomfortable with. There are some key tasks that must be performed to gain the qualification, these are mentioned below. If you have any concerns don’t hesitate to get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a short Multiple Choice question paper at the end of each day. If you would like help reading the paper or a bit a more time then don’t hesitate to contact us: we are always happy to help
What to Bring?
Pencils, pens, course book and note paper are supplied.
Lunch is not included, so bring your own.
A range of hot drinks and snacks will be available throughout the training
Bring: reading glasses (if you wear them), translating dictionary (if you want one)
What to wear?
We will be kneeling at the sides of ‘casualties’, lying on the floor, performing chest compressions and be bandaging each other’s arms/hands. Wear clothing that makes you feel relaxed, comfortable, is not too precious and helps you maintain sufficient modesty.
What is expected?
All candidates must be:
Physically capable of kneeling/bending down besides a casualty and have enough strength to perform chest compressions ( Painful knee joints, RSI or arthritis in the wrists and hands can make performing chest compressions very painful/awkward)
Be able to perform rescue breaths. (People with breathing difficulties or very heavy smokers can find rescue breaths hard.)
Should feel comfortable seeing and dealing with blood and injuries.
Able to preform CPR and put casualty in recovery position who is laying on the floor.
Note: To be awarded the Level 3 qualification Learners must be competent in performing the above tasks. Please get in touch if you have any concerns, we will work hard to resolve any problems.
