Emergency First Aid training courses are at least 7 hours and are run over one day but can be split over a couple of days.
First Aid at Work training courses involve at least 18 hours of training and are run over a minimum of three days. The 18 hours does not include breaks and the final assessment.
Paediatric First Aid courses are 12 hours and are essential for EYFS settings.

There are qualities that make a really good first aider:
Someone who is caring and kind
Someone that has no (known) problem of seeing/dealing with blood and body fluids
Someone who is there when needed
Someone who is trained and up to date

Paediatric
The Qualsafe Award’s (QA) Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is aimed at those working in child-care settings and for anyone with responsibility for caring for infants and children.
At least one person who has a current paediatric first-aid certificate must be on the premises at all times and at least one person should accompany every outing. This Paediatric First Aid Training Course has been developed to meet your obligations for Ofsted-regulated settings.

One evening Ollie and Jan were out walking in their local area when they saw a horse wildly rearing and then throw the rider to the ground. This was a frightening event but it just so happened that Ollie had just spent the day on an Emergency First Aid Course.
